Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geographic Information Systems Analyst to join our Public Health Knowledge & Intelligence Team at Warrington Borough Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the work of the public health team by analyzing and interpreting large datasets to produce meaningful intelligence.
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments, including the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), and Annual Public Health Report.
  • Respond to routine and ad hoc information requests from key partners, including other Council departments, the Integrated Care Board (ICB), and local public health teams.
  • Benchmark and monitor public health indicators and services, using statistical techniques to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Present findings in a user-friendly manner, using excellent analytical and research skills to draft reports and briefings.
  • Utilize GIS software, such as Mapinfo, and data visualization tools, like Power BI, to support data-driven decision making.
Requirements
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong understanding of GIS principles and software, including Mapinfo and Power BI.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with public health professionals and other stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
