Senior Java Engineer (VP) – Belfast

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join our Prime Brokerage Technology team in Belfast. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients and traders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Java-based components for our Core Prime Brokerage platform.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, promoting best practices in software development and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct system analysis and architecture design, ensuring technical standards and overall architecture blueprint are met.
  • Develop and maintain project and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle, proposing solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in software development or systems analysis.
  • Java and Test-Driven Development are essential.
  • Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
