Job Title: Civil Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Transport for London. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination and delivery of safety inspections, asset monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement prioritization for all civil engineering assets and structures across our network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering the requirements of the Asset Maintenance Plan.
  • Engage Contract Managers and Examination Delivery organisation, ensuring KPIs are acknowledged and tracked on a weekly basis.
  • Develop and maintain asset data management systems to ensure the effective delivery of maintenance activities.
  • Produce technical specifications/requirements for corrective maintenance and enhancement works that have been prioritized in accordance with the risk-based prioritization system.
  • Conduct technical analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to deliver a safe, operable, and reliable railway.
  • Ensure that all maintenance works are delivered in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Manage Civil assets (Structures, Tunnels, Buildings and Operational Properties) Examinations Compliance, ensuring all maintenance tasks/Examinations are sequenced correctly and scheduled in line with the Standards baseline requirements.
  • Ensure risks are managed where any assets or Examinations' delivery is out of Compliance.

Requirements:

  • A Post Graduate Diploma in civil engineering or a related field as a minimum.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Civil maintenance & Examinations processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Civil Inspection/examination standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in asset condition management systems such as OPAS/ATRIUM, ESTEEM, AXIOM, CARRS, SMIS, AMIS, ELLIPSE, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in faults and corrective maintenance.
  • Expertise in applying reliability-based maintenance and risk management for safe and reliable asset systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in civil engineering asset maintenance and management.
  • Good knowledge and experience in managing Planned Maintenance/Examinations Compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Defects Prioritisation, mitigations and risks management related to particular defects/failures of components of Civil assets.
