We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for planning, preparing and coordinating the delivery of Post-tensioning and Structural Monitoring Systems for the EPR Reactor Building Inner Containment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in post-tensioning systems, structural monitoring, and concrete bridges. They will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset, with occasional weekend and night shift attendance required.

About the Role:

  • Analyse and convey relevant construction information to clients, sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders;
  • Review and secure approval on procedures, method statements, risk assessments, and inspection test plans;
  • Analyse 3D models and drawings related to prestressing and monitoring components;
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are implemented and hazards are identified and mitigated;
  • Work with project teams to comply with environmental standards and regulations;
  • Conduct surveillance and performance evaluation of subcontractor works and provide feedback;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to recommend innovative solutions;
  • Assist in coordinating subcontractor activities with other stakeholders;
  • Oversee planning and development of working sequences and implement subcontractor programmes;
  • Develop alternative solutions to improve productivity, quality, and safety.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in post-tensioning systems, structural monitoring, and concrete bridges;
  • Strong technical knowledge, including AutoCad and 3D modelling software;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills;
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology.
