Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our Environmental Management and Assessment Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in achieving their environmental goals.

Our team is responsible for managing the environmental aspects of various projects, including onshore and offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, and rail. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in environmental design, assessment, and management, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Providing environmental advice and support to clients and project managers
  2. Working with colleagues and clients to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement
  3. Managing the delivery of environmental inputs into projects, including EIA screening requests and scoping reports
  4. Managing projects and overseeing performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety
  5. Building relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to provide support
  6. Undertaking activities to secure new work, including preparing proposals and participating in business development opportunities
  7. Supporting the development of innovative techniques to shape the way we do business
  8. Inspiring and upskilling junior colleagues to support their career development

Qualifications:

  1. A relevant environmental degree level qualification
  2. Achieved or demonstrably working towards Chartered Environmental Status and Full membership of IEMA
  3. Strong experience of EIA and EIA processes, working with limited supervision in multi-disciplinary teams
  4. Sound knowledge and experience of relevant environmental and planning legislation
  5. Demonstrable post-qualified experience of coordinating environmental assessments on a variety of projects
  6. An appreciation of project management activities, including commercial and risk aspects, forecasting, and quality assurance
  7. Experience in work winning and bid preparation activities
  8. Experience of liaising with cross-discipline teams, clients, and external bodies and organisations
  9. First-rate verbal and written communication skills, including report writing with an attention to detail
  10. Demonstrable experience of promoting a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture
