About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned technology leader to lead our Grid Automation Design Office. As a Design Office Director, you will be responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy and roadmaps for our product platforms, ensuring alignment with business needs and maximizing productivity, revenue, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead technology innovation, strategy, and roadmaps for Grid Automation
  • Define product platform and solution architecture, ensuring alignment with business needs and maximizing productivity, revenue, and customer satisfaction
  • Articulate and translate technology strategy into design authority guidelines to align product/platform design
  • Oversee design rigor for quality and NPI execution
  • Manage R&D competencies, engineering practices, tools, and processes
  • Enhance global R&D and cross-functional team engagement and collaboration culture
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a technical product development capacity
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architect
  • Able to interface effectively with all functions and levels of a global organization
  • Have legal authorization to work in Canada
Desired Characteristics
  • Understanding of the power Grid Protection, Control, and Automation domain
  • Prior work experience developing industrial controls for power systems
  • Broad technical experience and deep expertise in a specific engineering discipline
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – ability to articulate and evangelize a vision, ability to negotiate
