Job Title: Science Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Science Technician to join our vibrant Science Department in an esteemed secondary school in Sunderland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of science apparatus and materials as required
  • Advising and assisting students in scientific experiments
  • Maintenance and cleaning of apparatus after use
  • Ensuring all apparatus is properly maintained and stored, assisting with stock control
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements:

  • Graduate of science, holding a degree in Physics, Chemistry or Biology with at least a 2:1
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about science and education
  • Previous experience in a laboratory setting
  • Must have, or be willing to, undergo an enhanced DBS check
  • Committed to ensuring the safeguarding of young people
