Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Officer to join our team at O-I. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for driving safety performance within our facility to help us achieve best-in-class performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Relationships and Engage the Workforce

Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to engage the workforce and promote a safe working environment.

Conduct Internal Audits and Inspections

Perform regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Support and Coach Staff

Support and coach all staff within the facility to ensure they understand and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.

Review High-Risk Jobs

Review and assess high-risk jobs to identify areas for improvement and develop safe systems of work.

Develop and Execute Training Programs

Develop and execute training programs to educate staff on safety procedures and protocols.

Liaise with Stakeholders

Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop and nurture best practices in operational safety.

Be a Trusted Point of Contact

Be a trusted point of contact within the plant for all safety-related issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications

NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.

Experience

At least 3 years of experience working as a Safety Officer in a manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment.

Skills

Strong relationship-building, influencing, and coaching skills.
