We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our esteemed Food & Beverage Team at Thornbury Castle, a 5-star hotel and member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux association. As a Bartender, you will be part of a unique and beautifully restored Castle, creating unforgettable experiences for our discerning guests.

Thornbury Castle Hotel, nestled on 15 acres of breathtaking land, is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. Following a multi-million pound refurbishment, the Castle has been restored to its former regal grandeur. Located just 20 minutes' drive from Bristol, our hotel boasts 27 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar, and two exclusive meeting and conference spaces. Our culinary style is modern British, utilizing the finest locally sourced produce from our kitchen garden and the surrounding southwest region. We operate 7 days a week, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, and Sunday lunch, as well as occasional weddings and functions.

Job Description

• We offer a competitive hourly rate of £11.92, depending on experience.
• This is a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours per week over 5 days, mainly evening shifts and weekend availability.
• Shifts typically run between 12:30 and 00:00.
• You will receive an additional share of service charge and tips every 2 months, approximately £2,000 per year.
• Enjoy 28 days of holiday, including bank holidays, and a paid day off on your birthday.
• After 3 months of probation, you will be eligible for a complimentary stay at the castle.

Requirements

• Experienced Bartender with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Greet guests, take orders, and serve food and drinks with a smile.
• Knowledge of traditional cocktails and spirits is essential.
• Answer queries about the menu, make suggestions, and take ownership of guest requirements and food allergies.
• Follow Health and Safety and Food Safety procedures at all times.
• Set up dining areas, process charges and payments, and effectively communicate with managers and colleagues.
• Experience handling guest queries and complaints is a must.
• A natural passion and flair for the industry and food is required.
• A calm, mature approach and ambition to succeed at the highest levels are essential.
• Dedicated team player with strong communication skills and ability to work unsupervised using own initiative when needed.
• Willingness to learn new things and adapt to our unique environment.
