Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician Apprentice to join our Materials and Process Laboratory team at Intertek. As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory operations, ensuring the quality and reliability of materials used in various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out testing programs for the assessment of process chemicals and mechanical testing.
• Prepare metallic test specimens, including the use of cutting wheels and grinding/polishing equipment for metallographic examination.
• Prepare test solutions using general chemical laboratory techniques such as the use of micropipettes, balances, dilution methods, and calculation of solution concentrations.
• Handle chemicals required during testing in accordance with COSHH, and health and safety risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of observations and calculations.
• Preparation, maintenance, and operation of a variety of laboratory equipment.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must be over 16, not in full-time education, have lived in the UK for 3 years, and have the right to work in the UK.
