About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Mercure Haydock Park Hotel.

As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional food quality and customer service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in the production of food items, ensuring high-quality standards are met at all times.
  • Ensure excellent food hygiene practices are observed, adhering to HACCP compliance and kitchen equipment maintenance.
  • Train and develop junior team members, promoting a positive and motivated kitchen environment.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including quality, administrative, and operational functions.
  • Ensure the provision of food to Food and Beverage outlets, maintaining compliance with current legislation.
  • Assist in resolving guest queries in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior kitchen role, with a strong understanding of food production and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP compliance and food safety legislation.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
