About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Childcare Lawyer to join our Legal Services team at Bury Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in advising on child protection matters, tackling complex cases, and providing critical support to children's and young people's social care teams.

You will work closely with the Head of the Social Care Legal Team to drive excellent practices and ensure the highest standards of legal compliance and influence the development and implementation of key policies.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of child protection cases, including those involving child abuse and neglect. You will also have the chance to develop and implement new policies and procedures to improve the delivery of legal services to children and families.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with up-to-date practicing certificate and demonstrable experience of working within and providing advice on Childcare law.

You will be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders. You will also be able to work independently, prioritizing your workload and managing your time effectively.
