About Our Client

Our esteemed client is a leading law firm with a strong global presence, renowned for its exceptional services and dedication to customer satisfaction. The finance team is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and approve invoices, ensuring accurate coding and compliance.
  • Monitor and manage disbursements, posting to specific matters on the portal and processing payments efficiently.
  • Process and pay referral fees in a timely manner.
  • Approve office payment requests, ensuring disbursement accuracy.
  • Reconcile Counsel Fees against the ledger for accuracy.
  • Perform payment runs, guaranteeing timely and accurate disbursement of funds.
  • Nurture strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, resolving queries effectively.
  • Reconcile staff expenses for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciling accounts payable transactions and preparing accruals.
  • Support junior staff, overseeing and correcting work as required.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting on accounts payable as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation, explanations, and support as required.
Requirements
  • Strong accounts payable experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Previous experience in supervising or supporting junior team members.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, with experience in Chrome River being highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Experience working in a law firm is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Capacity to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders.
