Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to students with behavioural needs, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and youth offenders.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the pastoral care team to ensure the provision of effective support for students with behavioural and SEMH needs.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans for students, focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration for youth offenders and re-offenders.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to provide effective guidance and support.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a holistic support network for students.
- Conduct regular one-on-one sessions with students to monitor progress and address any concerns.
- Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions on topics such as emotional resilience, conflict resolution, and positive behaviour management.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate interventions to ensure student safety and well-being.
- Promote a positive school culture that values diversity, inclusion, and respect for all individuals.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in pastoral care, particularly with youth offenders, students with behavioural needs, and those with SEMH challenges.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and lead effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in pastoral care.
