Job Overview

The EPR Training Support Officer plays a pivotal role in the Electronic Patient Record Programme, working as part of a team to deliver, develop, and design training content and delivery systems to the highest education standards within the local health community. This role ensures that staff have the necessary skills to implement systems effectively through day-to-day training, deployments, and system upgrades.

Main Duties
  • Deliver high-quality training to staff on all identified Trust EPR Systems in a coordinated and professional manner in various locations.
  • Develop and maintain a focus on high-standard delivery, ensuring the effective implementation of IT educational developments.
  • Ensure new learning opportunities and resources are integrated into educational delivery plans and communicate complex curriculum information effectively.
  • Utilize influencing, tact, and diplomacy skills to overcome conflicting pressures and barriers in training delivery.
  • Deal effectively with trainees who are disruptive, negative, or demotivated through training management skills.
  • Test competencies of those being trained and provide feedback.
  • Manage further training for staff who do not demonstrate required competency levels.
  • Participate in the development, planning, design, and implementation of training courses.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of learning environments, including layout, setup, equipment, and learning aids.
  • Coach new staff on all systems in preparation for training delivery.
  • Design training databases to reflect live environments conducive to training.
  • Develop training courses to accommodate differing skill levels and learning styles.
  • Set up and upgrade user accounts after training delivery, conforming to correct levels of role-based access.
  • Undergo annual appraisal and evaluate the currency and sufficiency of own knowledge and practice against KSF outlines.
  • Agree and develop personal development plans and maintain a PDP to provide evidence of development and performance against KSF outlines.
  • Be responsible for own personal educational and experiential learning, keeping up to date with changes in local and national trends and policies.
  • Participate in the induction/training of new Junior Doctors as part of the induction process.
  • Share information relating to own area of work within the team and actively promote and support the sharing of knowledge and skills.
