About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carbon Finance Lead to join our team at Opna. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will be responsible for leading all things financing related to carbon markets transactions. This is a business development and deal-focused role that requires close collaboration with our customers and suppliers to facilitate frictionless, robust, and effective long-term carbon markets contracts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of partnering with corporate and financing players within Voluntary Carbon markets, as well as previous participation in significant carbon market financing transactions. They will also have a strong grasp of carbon financing contracts, structures, and associated challenges, as well as excellent comprehension of de-risking and due diligence criteria for carbon projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a number of significant carbon market financing transactions
  • Grasping diverse carbon market project types, spanning removal to reduction, and driving innovative solutions
  • Partnering with corporate and financing players within Voluntary Carbon markets
  • Participating in significant carbon market financing transactions
  • Developing a strong understanding of carbon financing contracts, structures, and associated challenges
  • Comprehending de-risking and due diligence criteria for carbon projects
  • Aligning Opna's strategies with financial changes
