Sewer Network Investigation Technician

About the Role

The Sewer Network Investigation Technician will be responsible for conducting extensive investigations on the sewerage network, operating CCTV cameras and crawler units, and working with other SWW employees and contractors to identify and resolve issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the plant, equipment, and vehicle that they operate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out CCTV surveys to identify causes of blockages, misconnections, pollutions, and other defects
  • Operating CCTV cameras and crawler units to inspect and investigate sewerage network issues
  • Working with other SWW employees and contractors to resolve issues and maintain the sewerage network
  • Producing accurate and high-quality reports to document findings and recommendations
  • Being responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the plant, equipment, and vehicle that they operate
  • Filling in for other roles in the operational team as required
  • Participating in an out-of-hours standby and working pattern as required
Requirements
  • 1+ years of CCTV engineering experience
  • Full UK clean driving license (essential)
  • Minor grounds work experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge of using Minicam equipment (desirable) - training provided
  • Knowledge of Wincan software (desirable) - training provided
  • High-pressure water jetting certificate (desirable) - training provided
  • Confined Space Entry - or CP2 (desirable) - training provided
  • High standard of communication skills, both written and oral
  • High attention to detail
  • Time management and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Provide a first-class service
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
