Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the teaching and learning of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promote pupils' independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion
  • Support pupils, individually or in groups, to access the curriculum and take part in learning
  • Teach and support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a good and safe learning environment
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher
  • Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable
  • Use ICT skills to advance pupils' learning
  • Undertake any other relevant duties given by the class teacher
Requirements
  • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and maths
  • First-aid training, or willingness to complete it
  • Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, or other relevant qualification in nursery work or childcare (or willingness to work towards a qualification if not already held)
  • Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting
  • Experience working with children/young people
  • Experience planning and delivering learning activities
  • Experience of planning and leading teaching and learning activities (under supervision)
