Junior Buyer Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Buyer to join our dynamic team at Morgan Jones. As a Junior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the senior buyer and department manager by managing purchase orders, overseeing an open order book across 200+ suppliers, and providing administrative support and maintaining ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage purchase orders and keep track of inventory
  • Oversee an open order book across 200+ suppliers
  • Provide administrative support and maintain ERP systems
  • Run MRP to ensure timely deliveries and minimize risks
  • Monitor market trends and vendor performance
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations for inbound freight
Requirements:
  • Essential:
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent
  • 1-3 years' experience in purchasing
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems
  • Proven ability to manage tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in raw material purchasing
  • Familiarity with customs processes
  • CIPS qualification or studying towards it
  • A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing or construction organization
