An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Management lawyer to join our team in Manchester, with a focus on defending housing conditions claims. Our team provides seamless, sector-focused advice across a wide range of legal areas, including corporate and commercial, planning and environment, procurement, development, construction, commercial property, finance, charging, sales, governance, renewable energy, housing and asset management, employment and HR, debt recovery, and property and commercial litigation.

Our Social Housing team and Social Housing Finance team are ranked in the national tables by the Chambers and Legal 500 directories. We act for a large number of clients in respect of all aspects of housing management, including housing conditions claims, possession actions, antisocial behaviour, leasehold queries, and policy and procedure work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defending housing conditions claims, including pre-litigation and litigated files
  • Developing and fostering relationships with clients and other stakeholders
  • Managing a caseload of housing conditions claims, with minimal supervision
  • Preparing witness statements for use at trial

Requirements:

  • Talent, ambition, and a real interest in the social housing sector
  • Experience of managing a housing conditions claim, either in-house or in private practice
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different professional contexts
  • Enthusiasm for delivering excellent quality service to clients
