About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pain Management to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, delivering high-quality care to patients with acute and chronic pain.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day operational delivery of our Pain Management Service. They will take charge of an agreed nurse-led caseload, maintaining a professional approach at all times. This includes implementing and evaluating pain management initiatives, facilitating seamless service provision, and promoting quality evidence-based care to patients in accordance with local and Trust policies.

Additionally, they will have the opportunity to develop and participate in audit, research, and educational activities related to pain management. They will work closely with the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Anaesthetic Consultants to deliver inpatient and outpatient Pain Services at the Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the operational delivery of the Pain Management Service
  • Take responsibility for an agreed nurse-led caseload
  • Implement and evaluate pain management initiatives
  • Facilitate seamless service provision
  • Promote quality evidence-based care to patients
  • Develop and participate in audit, research, and educational activities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current clinical nursing experience (adult)
  • Extensive experience in Acute and Chronic Pain Management at Band 6 or above
  • Participation in quality assurance projects
  • An awareness of acute & chronic pain services and the needs of inner city populations
  • A clear understanding of the Band 7 CNS role
  • An understanding of Clinical Governance issues
Salary

The salary for this role is £56,900 per annum, plus benefits.
