We are seeking a skilled Building Control Inspector to support our team in enforcing Building Regulations in Worthing. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, health, and welfare of the community, while also supporting environmental goals through energy conservation policies.

This is a full-time, temporary assignment offering a competitive hourly rate. As a Building Control Inspector, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and enforcing Building Regulations and related legislation.
  • Examining building plans for compliance and inspecting works in progress.
  • Identifying and addressing non-compliance, recommending enforcement actions when necessary.
  • Ensuring public safety by assessing and addressing dangerous structures.
  • Providing high standards of customer care and collaborating with other departments.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Membership (or working towards membership) with RICS or CABE.
  • Registration as a General Building Control Surveyor (Class 2 minimum) with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations and experience as a Building Control Officer.
