Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Engineering Solutions Developer to join our team at Leonardo SpA. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for various applications.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in working on real-world engineering problems. You will be responsible for contributing to early concept studies, engaging with stakeholders to define system requirements, and designing and integrating new functionality into existing subsystems.

We offer a competitive salary of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including flexible working hours, company-funded benefits, and a pension scheme. Our location is in GB - Edinburgh, and we provide hybrid working options, with onsite work required occasionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to early concept studies investigating the application of new technology on future platforms
  • Engage with stakeholders to define system requirements for new systems
  • Design and integrate new functionality into existing subsystems using Simulink
  • Collaborate with other engineers to design and prototype detailed models of systems
  • Investigate the cause of anomalies observed during integration or evaluation activities using real trials data

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science)
  • Proven experience in systems engineering (at least 5 years)
  • Strong knowledge of systems architecture, synthetic environments, and performance modelling
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
