Project Engineer

MC Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join their team in Swindon. The successful candidate will work with a Renewable Energy company, transforming solid feedstocks into low-carbon biofuels.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop project scope documents and secure buy-in and approval
  2. Conduct risk assessments for project delivery, including technical, financial, environmental, and safety
  3. Undertake detailed design development, including specifications, data sheets, detail drawings, and layouts
  4. Support design review and HAZOP processes
  5. Identify suppliers and contractors and develop tender review documents
  6. Develop delivery schedules and manage resources
  7. Manage suppliers and contractors
  8. Oversee on-site installation/construction and commissioning activities, ensuring health and safety requirements are met
  9. Deliver project close-out documentation
  10. Provide regular progress reports against the scope, including schedule, cost, risk, and quality performance
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably with a Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Control & Instrumentation specialism
  2. Extensive experience in a similar Engineering field with a solid understanding of process engineering and control
  3. Prior experience as a Project Engineer, with a proven track record of successful delivery from design through to handover and closeout
  4. Good understanding of engineered systems; C&I implementation experience would be advantageous
  5. Proven track record of project delivery in a process/chemical engineering environment, with demonstrable evidence of knowledge of typical project management tools
  6. Demonstrable experience of safe delivery of projects, from concept through design and implementation
  7. Proven ability to work and manage work safely, complying with all necessary legislation
  8. Experience of managing project budgets, cash flow, and forecasting
  9. Experience of AutoCAD for drafting and development of detailed manufacturing drawings
  10. Solid understanding of the basic MS Office product suite
  11. Prior experience of working in hazardous environments, familiarity with ATEX/DSEAR
