About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our well-established and supportive multi-disciplinary therapy team at West Herts NHS Trust in Watford. The successful candidate will thrive on finding strategies to meet a range of patient specific needs and goals, providing exceptional care that supports our mature patients on their journey to greater independence.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, using communication skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation, and gaining informed consent with a wide variety of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including clinical practice, and for the work and clinical practice of line-managed staff.
  • Ability and skill to work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To use communication skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation, and gaining informed consent with a wide variety of patients.
  • Ability to teach and present to qualified / non-qualified staff and other disciplines, in groups or individually, using a variety of media.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEGREE QUALIFICATION OR EQUIVALENT & NHS EXPERIENCE
  • REGISTRATION WITH THE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONS COUNCIL
  • EVIDENCE OF CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND REFLECTIVE PRACTICE
  • BOTH A JOB REQUIRING YOUR SKILLS AND A WORK-LIFE BALANCE THAT SUITS YOU.
  • FULL, UK DRIVING LICENCE AND ACCESS TO A VEHICLE FOR WORK PURPOSES
