About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer II to join our team at Rightmove. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing innovative solutions to drive business growth and improve the user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software applications using Java, Spring Boot, and other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, ensuring timely delivery and meeting business objectives.
  • Take ownership of technical decisions and lead the implementation of complex projects, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to develop and implement technical strategies that align with business goals.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers to help them develop their technical skills and contribute to the growth of the team.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in developing commercial applications with Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
  • Proven track record of leading technically complex projects and assigning work to multiple engineers.
  • Strong coordination and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in performance optimization and user experience.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and a strong understanding of software development principles.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
