Reed Technology is a leading IT solutions provider based in Brighton. We are seeking a highly skilled IT Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our internal team.

Salary: £42,000 - £47,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced IT Network Infrastructure Specialist to assist in the effective and secure operation of our business IT networks. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing changes and enhancements as directed, monitoring and resolving issues, and providing specialist technical advice to colleagues and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To use specialist technical knowledge of the IT network to monitor, detect and resolve issues, working with colleagues and external agencies to investigate and resolve escalated issues
  • To administer passive and active equipment which comprises the IT network, including network cabling, switches, routers, security systems and other related hardware and software
  • To provide specialist technical advice to colleagues and external agencies on the use and operation of the IT network, including fault diagnosis, IT equipment installation, maintenance and configuration
  • To maintain the security of specialist technical services and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Information Security Policies
  • To plan, advise, prioritise and implement limited IT infrastructure projects and new service development, liaising with colleagues throughout the business and external suppliers
  • To regularly review processes and systems, making technical recommendations for improvements and resolutions to ensure efficient operation of the IT network and its services
  • To assist in the training, development and mentoring of less experienced colleagues

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience working within networking engineering
  • Experience of TCP/IP administration on at least one of Linux or Windows server platforms
  • Self-motivated desire to learn and develop skills through book-based learning, practical work, observation, formal training and initiative
