Securing Microsoft Azure estates as a senior security engineer is a vital role that requires expertise in cloud security, architecture, and compliance. At Pontoon, we're looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Security Principal Engineer to join our client's infrastructure security architecture team.

About the Role

In this position, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing security initiatives, advising on complex implementations, and monitoring & reporting of security compliance. Your expertise and experience in Azure will be essential in supporting our client's security teams to achieve their security goals.

  • Designing and implementing Azure Policy direction, managing exemptions, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Assessing the impact of upcoming Azure security-related change initiatives and providing advice on complex implementations.
  • Providing security architecture advice to key functions and senior stakeholders, including Entra ID, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Supporting in security incident response and providing specialist expertise when incidents occur within the Azure environment.
  • Monitoring and reporting on security compliance against Tesco security standards and best practises.

This is a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension or move to permanent available. If you're passionate about securing Microsoft Azure estates, have strong knowledge of Azure, and excellent communication skills, we'd love to hear from you.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure REST API.
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practises, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions, Role Based Access Control, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with Entra ID, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of designing secure solutions in public or private clouds.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and threat modelling exercises on cloud systems.
