Job Summary

The UK & Ireland Planning & Scheduling Manager is a key role within Wavin UK, an Orbia business, responsible for driving the operational part of the supply chain. This position will oversee short and long-term factory planning and scheduling, ensuring optimized product availability according to IBP assumptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support weekly S&OE meetings for assigned production plants.
  • Participate in the IBP process, addressing capacity constraints, utilization, short-term issues, and force majeure.
  • Coordinate material planners and detailed schedulers for various supply scenarios execution.
  • Adjust production plans based on weekly reviews of monthly progress and order book (FC consumption) with detailed schedulers in all production facilities within the territory.
  • Support slow mover's stock management process for assigned production plants.
  • Maintain proper control of SAP master data and ensure material process creation adheres to MDG guidelines.
  • Execute plans for introducing new products and phasing out old products to ensure optimal availability and minimize obsolescence within assigned production plants.
  • React promptly to changes in demand or supply to minimize obsolescence and inventory while maximizing customer service.
  • Propose and drive improvements in raw materials and components purchase, as well as subcontracting.
  • Continuously drive for optimizing working capital, costs, and service.
  • Address all availability issues of Finish Goods within the team.
  • Lead and implement projects for continuous improvement of factory planning performance.
  • Ensure H&S standards adherence.
  • Perform other activities assigned by the Manager.
  • Lead and develop the team to build required competencies and drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum A levels; Degree educated in a relevant business discipline (Logistics, MBA) is desirable.
  • 3 years' experience in production and material planning in a big-scale production environment.
  • Good analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete projects under a deadline.
  • Tactical and Operational Planning knowledge and experience.
  • Systems knowledge and experience of SAP R/3 (MM and PP), APO SNP.
  • Knowledge and experience of Reporting & Analytics: SAP BW / BO, MS Office.
  • Effective and proactive communication to a wide audience, both 'up' and 'down'.
  • Skilled influencer.
  • Experience in manufacturing production planning and stock management in a high-volume environment.
  • The role is by definition, a very cross-functionally oriented; therefore, the candidate must present and evidence a level of awareness and understanding of Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Finance.
