Science Academic Mentor Role

We are seeking a highly academic Science Graduate to join our team as a Science Academic Mentor at a reputable Secondary School in Kensington & Chelsea.

About the Role

This Science Academic Mentor role is an excellent opportunity for a Science Graduate to gain valuable classroom experience and support students in achieving their academic goals.

As a Science Academic Mentor, you will be responsible for delivering 1:1 and small-group Science tutoring sessions to KS3 and KS4 students, helping them to catch up with topics they may have missed out on last year.

You will need to be able to break down complicated Science concepts into easily understandable language, making you an excellent communicator and team player.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group Science tutoring sessions to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals
  • Break down complicated Science concepts into easily understandable language
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive the best possible support
Requirements

To be considered for this Science Academic Mentor role, you will need to be a highly academic Science Graduate with a 2:1 or First-Class degree from a top UK University.

You will also need to demonstrate an excellent track record of attainment in your GCSE and A-Levels, as well as a passion for Science and the ability to pass this enthusiasm on to students.

We are looking for someone with a patient and encouraging nature, an adaptable and creative mindset, and the determination to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of c. £23,000, pro rata to term time only, paid weekly on a PAYE basis.

We also offer opportunities to progress onto ITT from September 2024, making this a great opportunity for those looking to start a career in teaching.

Interviews are available ASAP, and the role will run until July 2024 in the first instance.

Full-time position, Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4pm.
