Job Summary
The Research Governance Administrator will provide administrative support to the Senior Research Governance Officer and the Research and Innovation Manager in delivering an efficient and effective Research service for the trust. This role will involve a range of specialist administrative processes, including the set up and review of research studies hosted by Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will assist and support the Senior Research Governance Officer with activities relating to Capacity and Capability Assessments for research studies. This will involve working and communicating with Laboratory Research Services, Pharmacy Clinical Trials, Radiology and Research Teams as well as external Sponsors and Clinical Research Organisations.
The Research Governance Administrator will also maintain an accurate database of new research studies received, declined, completed and returned for each research specialty/discipline. Additionally, they will create information sheets for each research specialty, detailing new research studies where an expression of interest/feasibility has been submitted and updated monthly ready for dissemination.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, as well as experience of research governance in clinical research in the NHS, academic or commercial environment. They will also have experience of data entry, knowledge of Information Governance policies and issues, and experience of finance systems, such as EDGE invoicing.
Advanced skills in the use of word processing, Excel spreadsheets, presentation and research software are also essential. Desirable qualifications include undertaking research courses or qualifications such as GCP, experience of working in a CTA role, and experience of clinical research audit, monitoring and inspection.
