Join Our Team as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor

Howard Civil Engineering is a leading civil engineering company in the North, renowned for its client-focused approach and strong relationships with clients. We pride ourselves on building trust and delivering exceptional results.

We are seeking a talented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Leeds. As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the commercial aspects of our projects across Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercial aspect of dedicated sites across Yorkshire
  • Produce monthly cost and value forecasts
  • Prepare, submit, and agree on monthly applications for payment
  • Ensure cost control is maintained
  • Measure and value works carried out on site with precision and attention to detail
  • Procure, assess, certify, and reconcile sub-contractor applications
  • Track changes to design and capture variations
  • Review progress against programme
  • Cost value reconciliation on schemes
  • Assist in the tendering process

Requirements:

  • Either graduating in 2024 or have recently completed a suitable master's or bachelor's degree from a relevant commercial course, with a minimum grade of 2:2
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Passionate about the civil engineering sector
  • Strong IT skills and competent with Microsoft tools
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Punctual and good time-keeping
