Our company, Trauma Resus, is a leading provider of emergency response training solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior First Aid Instructor to join our team in the UK or Europe.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in first aid and trauma care, with a passion for delivering high-quality training to various groups. As a Senior First Aid Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching our advanced first aid courses, including IEC Intermediate and Advanced, EURIECA, First Response Emergency Care, and Requalification courses.

We estimate the salary for this position to be £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. This figure is based on industry standards for similar roles in the UK and Europe.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity that requires flexibility, with some evening and weekend work possible. Overnight stays may be necessary for multi-day courses or distant locations. You will be expected to maintain high standards of training delivery, engage and motivate learners, and represent our values and ethos as a professional subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver Trauma Resus courses, ensuring excellent content delivery and learner engagement;
  • Support other instructors delivering courses, providing guidance and expertise as needed;
  • Act as a subject matter expert, representing our values and ethos at all times;
  • Maintain and ensure all training equipment used on courses is in good condition and fit for purpose;
  • Provide advice on equipment procurement and support the clinical governance committee on matters related to training and equipment;
  • Work with our lead IQA to ensure external accreditation criteria are met and maintained;
  • Support exhibitions and conferences as required;
  • Escalate concerns to a member of the clinical governance faculty as needed;
  • Participate in quality improvement projects as directed by the head of training.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A current professional registration with GMC, NMC, or HCPC;
  • ILS/PLS/Trauma training or equivalent;
  • A Level 3 Teaching and Assessing qualification or equivalent;
  • Human Factors knowledge;
  • A full UK driving license;
  • Leadership and Management skills;
  • Risk Management experience;
  • Internal Quality Assurance knowledge;
  • Clinical practice experience dealing with patients suffering from trauma and requiring resuscitation;
  • Pre-hospital care experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training to diverse staff groups at different levels;
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills;
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • Good knowledge of products used for advanced first aid;
  • Leadership and management abilities.
