Senior Critical Care Physiotherapist

We are seeking an experienced and motivated physiotherapist to join our critical care physiotherapy team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in critical care and rehabilitation, with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to patients in general, neurosurgical, and cardiothoracic intensive care units, high dependency units, cardiac, and respiratory wards.
- Assist in creating rehabilitation pathways and outcome measures, and stay up-to-date with relevant NICE and NHS England policies.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate the physiotherapy service provided to patients within the team.
- Assess and treat patients with complex presentations, maintaining accurate records as an autonomous practitioner.
- Provide expertise in rehabilitation through ICUs, working closely with the team lead, head of physiotherapy, consultant therapist, and other clinical specialists.
- Communicate effectively with other disciplines, including meetings, reports, and letter writing.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments, using advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
- Formulate and deliver individual physiotherapy treatment programs based on evidence-based practice and treatment options.
- Take delegated responsibility for managing patients with particular conditions and provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment plans.
- Manage clinical risk within own patient caseload and report incidents and near misses.
- Work within trust clinical guidelines and CSP guidelines, monitoring own and others' quality of practice.
- Postgraduate experience in core rotations: Neurology, Acute Respiratory, Trauma and Orthopaedics, MSK.
- Awareness of current NHS and health issues.
- Demonstrable experience working in intensive care and acute hospitals.
- Demonstrable experience working in cardiothoracics, neurosurgery, and critical care.
- Demonstrable experience working in a major trauma unit.
- Degree (BSc Hons Physiotherapy) or equivalent.
