About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Isle of Wight. As a key member of our outreach team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing one-to-one support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Work with clients to assess their needs and create personalized support plans, focusing on housing, employment, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as health and housing services, to ensure clients receive comprehensive support.
  • Provide practical assistance with budgeting, shopping, cooking, and other essential skills, using a psychological informed approach.
  • Identify and address barriers to accommodation and tenancy management, providing resources and support to maintain safe and stable living arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, adhering to relevant systems and policies.
  • Work flexibly across all areas of operation, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
Requirements
  • Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Good IT and keyboard skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Polite, assertive manner, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • Passion for working with homeless individuals, with a genuine concern for their well-being.
  • Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Full Driver's license and own transport, essential for traveling between residential locations across the Island.
