We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our team in Manchester, providing exceptional services to public and private sector clients across the North of England. This role offers a competitive salary of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, and opportunities to develop and grow your career.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works. You will support business unit directors in delivering business objectives by:

  • Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that building surveying deliverables meet customer requirements
  • Managing projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures
  • Managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post-completion reviews
  • Quality monitoring of construction projects
  • Planning service delivery in conjunction with the Director with overall responsibility for the project;

You will work closely with clients and project team members, providing sound professional advice and ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue. In addition, you will mentor and coach employees to their full potential and advise directors promptly of any issues that may arise.

To be successful in this position, you should have sound Building Surveying experience post MRICS qualification, knowledge of construction methods and materials, and a clear understanding of legislation impacting building contracts. You should also possess excellent problem-solving, negotiating skills, and financial management skills. Sound ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are essential.
