About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join the HSBC UK DAO as a Data Privacy Manager, GCB5. As part of this role, you will work closely with the HSBC UK DAO team to deliver faster, simpler, and more effective privacy operations, support, and education to GBGFs. This will involve reducing time to market for business-sponsored programs, minimizing the risk of breach of customer data and other data privacy risks, and driving adherence to the Global Data Management Policies across HSBC.

Responsibilities

  1. Act as operational support on data privacy and protection law for HSBC UK Bank Plc, working collaboratively with Legal Data Privacy and Regulatory Compliance to communicate on data risk policies.
  2. Support the Control Owner for relevant controls as outlined by the Non-Financial Risk Framework.
  3. Proactively identify Data Privacy risks, issues, and control gaps, agreeing action plans to mitigate within a timely manner, escalating to appropriate forums where necessary.
  4. Grow awareness and knowledge of the GDPR and other changing laws and regulations within the remit Data Privacy for HSBC UK Bank plc.
  5. Facilitate and demonstrate cooperation, collaboration, and communication on a local, functional, and regional level to influence and engage stakeholders in working towards a mutually beneficial goal.
  6. Support in the development and assist in administering guidance, training, and educational materials.
  7. Support the development and delivery of data privacy and protection controls based on data policies that assure the compliant use of data and information across the global business requirements.
  8. Remain up to date with the requirements of legislation and conduct necessary gap analysis processes to identify and help build remedial work programs and highlight ongoing program risks. Work with the control owner to plan future data privacy needs.

Requirements

  • Preferably have worked in an Organization's Privacy office or with Data Privacy officers.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate data risks with the ability to understand materiality of data risks and prioritize/differentiate response accordingly.
