About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Boxcar Baker. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in menu development, kitchen operations, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu concepts and recipes.
  • Lead and mentor kitchen teams to ensure seamless service and exceptional food quality.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality and freshness of ingredients.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior culinary role within a similar establishment.
  • Proven track record of supporting and inspiring teams to achieve excellence.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing kitchen budgets and controlling costs.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding food quality and customer satisfaction.
