About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Nurse to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Paediatric Nurse, you will provide high-quality, family-centered care to children, young people, and their families. Your primary responsibility will be to work as a skilled member of the nursing team, providing a high standard of holistic care to our patients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, providing a high standard of holistic care to children, young people, and their families.
  • To promote family-centered care and establish good relationships with children, young people, and their families.
  • To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff following achievement of required competence.
  • To be familiar with and adopt the principles of the NHS Chief Nursing Officers vision for Compassion in Practice.

Requirements:
  • NMC Child Registered Nurse
  • Relevant nursing qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development linked to demonstrable competencies

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience
  • Experience of having worked with acute/chronically sick children or specialised transferable skills

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients
  • Committed to family-centered care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good time management and teaching skills
