Job Summary:

This role is ideal for a skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in Barnsley. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of conducting routine and reactive mechanical maintenance on various machinery and equipment.

The company Questech Recruitment Ltd is offering a competitive salary, with a base pay of £40,000, plus opportunities to earn more through overtime and shift rates. This includes increased pay for working Saturdays (x1.5), Sundays (x2), and public holidays (x2). Additionally, the employee will benefit from a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, including 12-hour shifts that rotate between days and nights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical faults, utilizing strong problem-solving skills and experience in fabrication and welding.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency, while maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and reporting any issues promptly.

Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or an approved apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role, with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Fabrication and welding experience.
