Maternity Cover SEN Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and experienced SEN teacher to join our team on a maternity cover post at a specialist school in Frome. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate teacher to make a real difference in the lives of our students.

The school caters for pupils with complex or severe learning needs, and all students have an Education, Health & Care Plan. Our school offers a profoundly personalised curriculum, and we are looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and patient lessons that meet the individual needs of our students.

As a SEN teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to the needs of our students. You will work closely with our skilled and enthusiastic staff team to ensure that our students receive the best possible education and support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering lessons that meet the individual needs of our students
  • Delivering lessons with an engaging and patient approach
  • Managing behaviours and supporting students with complex needs
  • Staying up-to-date with safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Providing regular feedback and progress updates to SLT

You will be teaching year 10 and 11 students, and all pupils have learning and cognition needs to varying degrees. We are looking for a teacher who is flexible, positive, calm, patient, and empathic, and who will easily fit in with our skilled and enthusiastic staff team.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only. We offer a supportive and collaborative working environment, and we are committed to providing our staff with the training and development opportunities they need to succeed.
