About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Chief Garage Technician to join our team at Fortescue Zero. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing workshop and trackside garage technician services, supporting the Jaguar Formula E Team's daily operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • To operate as a garage technician for the Jaguar Formula E Team at the factory and on event as required.
  • In conjunction with Engineering, manage the team wheel and tyre inventory, including wheel and tyre preparation, TPMS unit fitting, and managing tyres during sessions at race and test events.
  • Plan and administer all team truck operations, including loading, inventory keeping, service administration, and booking of the unit to attend events.
  • Maintain all team consumable stocks, ensuring re-stock orders are placed and chased as required.
  • Purchase, maintain, and manage the team pit equipment and off-car hardware, ensuring kit is ready for use as required, proactively maintained day-to-day, repaired when necessary, and stored correctly when not in use.
  • Assist in the assembly and maintenance of the race and test garage infrastructures both on event and when at the factory, including repair of garage equipment and packhorses, etc.
  • Assist the team with all freight movements, including organisation, packing, loading/unloading of team shipments, and paperwork creation (writing Carnet lists, truck inventories, etc).
  • Be the go-to person for storage of current and historic pit equipment, including PDN document creation and inventory record keeping.
  • Ensure the Jaguar racing workshop, race, and test locations are kept neat and tidy, utilising off-site storage locations to keep areas organised and operationally sound.

About You

  • You have significant experience of motorsport event garage operational experience (both factory and trackside).
  • You are familiar with race event tyre management, including in-session pressure adjustments, engineer, and supplier liaison.
  • You have experience with truck maintenance and stock-keeping.
  • You are familiar with road and air freight operations.
  • You are a confident self-starting team player, familiar with the fast-paced and ever-changing requirements of a race and test team environment.
