About the Role

GSL Education is seeking an experienced SEN Coordination Expert to join their team in London. This two-term position offers the opportunity to develop and implement comprehensive SEN policies and procedures, ensuring all students receive a tailored education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policymaking and Implementation: Develop and enforce SEN policies and procedures that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments and coordinate individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, guaranteeing their unique requirements are met
  • Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt curricula and teaching methods, provide training and support on SEN-related issues, and foster a culture of inclusivity
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with parents, external agencies, and specialists to ensure cohesive support for students, maintaining open lines of communication
  • Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN interventions, making necessary adjustments to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection: Ensure all safeguarding and child protection protocols are strictly followed, prioritizing the well-being and safety of all students

Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with specialized training in Special Educational Needs, proven experience in a SENCO role within a UK educational setting, in-depth knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices, strong organisational and leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
