At Siemens Smart Infrastructure, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team in the Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution industry.

Located in Hebburn near Newcastle upon Tyne, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of control systems and oversee the delivery of contracts, ensuring the future sustainability of our industry customers.

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Technical leadership of control systems solutions and support for new colleague development.
  • Production and checking of functional design specifications.
  • Design and development of control systems solutions.
  • Overseeing customer factory and site testing activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects.
  • Providing technical input for pre-sales activities.
  • Resolving technical issues and providing support on allocated projects.
  • Participating in internal and external design reviews and providing technical input.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in control automation and a minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
  • Desired experience in developing medium to large-scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems, and communication infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings on control and protection systems.
  • A desire to technically lead on allocated projects and develop engineers for the expanding team.
