About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Palliative Care Educator to join our Education and Development Team at St Ann's Hospice. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting excellence in palliative care and supporting the development of our staff.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and deliver high-quality training programs for multi-professional and multi-disciplinary staff, focusing on clinical skills and professional development.
  2. Maintain professional registration and practice within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate training and education programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  4. Provide an approachable and professional presence to ensure staff can access assistance, advice, and support with regards to clinical education.
  5. Represent the Education and Development team at relevant meetings, promoting the development of professional behaviors and knowledge among staff.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A First-level Registered Nurse qualification with current registration with the NMC or an Allied Health professional qualification with current professional registration.
  • Relevant professional degree (or equivalent) and evidence of continuing professional development in palliative care.
  • Experience of teaching practice and theory in various settings to clinical and non-clinical staff, both individually and in teams.
  • A thorough understanding of the End-of-Life agenda, NICE supportive & palliative care guidance, and other relevant service frameworks.
