About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Scotland Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team in Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to our clients and supporting the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax advice to clients on day-to-day tax matters, working closely with our Managers and Senior Manager.
  • Support the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services, including tax reporting and tax audit work.
  • Assist on tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input, researching topics, and working with other areas of tax and our overseas member firms.
  • Ensure clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business.
  • Supervise the work of junior members of staff and provide coaching to support their development.
  • Assist our Managers and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with quality and risk management procedures and financial management.
  • Support the leadership with business development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent.
  • UK corporation tax experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify core issues, investigate, evaluate, and integrate information.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent, and clear.
  • High level of drive, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
  • Takes personal responsibility and accountability for managing own work and juggling competing priorities.
  • Continuously learns from experiences, seeking out feedback and development opportunities.
