The Role

We are seeking a skilled Salaried General Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, providing flexible support and care while working variable session numbers.

This role includes all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Main Duties:

  • Carrying out a variety of tasks including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions, and managing paperwork, reports, and correspondence in a timely manner;
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation;
  • Evaluating the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems;
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness;
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols;
  • Providing health education;
  • Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards;
  • Collecting data for audit purposes and adhering to QOF requirements;
  • Delivering enhanced services;
  • Preparing and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions;
  • All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
