Technical Director Job Description

Novosound, a pioneering sensor technology business, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Director to lead their technical operations. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of technical strategies and product roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage the technical team, including engineers, researchers, and technicians.
  2. Develop and implement technical strategies and product roadmaps.
  3. Ensure all technical projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  4. Collaborate with the executive team to define technical priorities and align them with business goals.
  5. Maintain an in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies in the ultrasound field.
  6. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in product development and engineering processes.
  7. Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  8. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
  9. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  10. Prepare and present technical reports and updates to the executive team and board of directors.
Requirements:
  1. A Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  2. Previous experience in sensor-based technologies.
  3. Experience in a technical leadership role.
  4. Proven experience in managing and leading technical teams.
  5. Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects.
  6. Experience with AI/ML for data analysis and digital signal processing.
  7. Experience with instrumentation and the digitisation of sound waves.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  11. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  12. Experience with regulatory compliance and quality assurance in a technical environment.
