About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Learning Support Practitioner to join our team at HMP/YOI Doncaster. As a key member of our Education department, you will be responsible for supporting students with diverse educational needs and promoting learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To research students' educational backgrounds, administering basic skills assessments and screening for LDD needs.
  2. To develop and implement individualised learning plans, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  3. To assist teachers with strategies to support inclusion across the curriculum, ensuring students receive a high-quality education.
  4. To contribute to the development and implementation of education policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Proven experience working with students with diverse educational needs, including those with LDD.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work patterns and assignments.
