About the Role:

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Marlowe Fire & Security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Commercial Contracts Manager in reviewing and negotiating customer contracts.
  • Assess and highlight key contractual risks to relevant stakeholders and support in risk mitigation.
  • Communicate with all interested parties to ensure understanding of contract terms and obligations.
  • Review and renegotiate existing contracts as necessary.
  • Assist in resolving payment issues by following contract terms.
  • Focus on administration tasks, including keeping accurate records of contracts, their status, and progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience in contract law and contract negotiation, or a graduate with a degree in contract law or quantity surveying.
  • Knowledge of Standard Contract Forms and relevant legislation would be beneficial.
  • Good knowledge of construction practices and details, beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to forge and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Articulate, credible, and able to persuade and negotiate with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical, reflective, and possess reasoning skills, coupled with the ability to solve problems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Collaborative, supportive, and able to demonstrate a commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Full driving license, as the role will involve some travel.
